Dark North
This is a new take I’ve processed on an image I took in April, 2006…though I don’t think I’ve ever shown any other versions. Maybe the same scene taken from a different angle, but this should be ‘fresh’ enough to post. My goal was to spend one night this weekend in the igloo [...]
Snowcosm
I saw this micro-scene while walking back to my car from the Upper Terrace photo shoot in Yellowstone. Tiny tips of evergreen, protruding from the snow and lending to the drifted ‘landscape’ below them.
YNP, III - Upper Terrace
I’m a bit late in making today’s post (it’s after midnight now) because I was buried in snow all day working on my igloo. Ken and I went back up to Tom Miner Basin and finished it off…but it was after dark when we got done and I didn’t have my tripod with me, [...]
YNP, II - Duotone
Here are the images from my Yellowstone trip that I’ve processed as duotones. The buffalo was sleeping in the middle of the road the night before…we almost had a little collision. The next morning it had moved over to the shoulder, but you could see where someone had gone off the road in an attempt [...]
YNP, I - Color
There wasn’t much light in the Park to work with on Thursday and Friday, but it was still a great trip. Sunrise on Friday gave a few hints of color and so I did my best to take advantage of it. I don’t fancy myself a wildlife photographer, but if the critters are [...]
The Howl
I spent the last couple days in Yellowstone National Park, chasing scenes back and forth across Lamar Valley. I have 868 photos to go through, so it’ll take a few days, but I wanted to post something up. I saw 12 wolves in two different groups on Friday and really like the way this shot [...]
The Front
The light has been pretty mediocre for the last few days when I’ve had the time to get out, so I have to dive back into the archives. This shot is from a drive near Big Timber, MT this late summer. The Yellowstone River glowed orange below this massive cloud front.
