Estab. 1864
Sorry I missed posting yesterday, I went to meet an old friend in Ennis, MT. We decided to make the quick drive over to Virginia City and found a quaint, deserted scene just starting to come to life. With about 130 residents, the famed mining town of the Old West is a far cry from the 10,000 that lived there in the mid-1860’s. In another month or two, it will be transformed into a bustling stop for tourists and sightseers. Just a few miles down the road is Nevada City, MT, with its ‘hodged’ ghost town - not quite the authentic settlement it appears as today, the buildings were brought in from the surrounding area and placed together. Despite that fact, it’s quite entertaining to roam through and there’s no loss of historical presence. I did a little tour last year, but didn’t ever post any of those images. I think I’ll go back and see what I can come up with for a follow-up.
