Last Face

I discovered earlier this evening that my site layout had been displaying incorrectly in at least one common browser for roughly 24 hours. My apologies to everyone who experienced this, I’ve now corrected the issue and things are back to normal. I should take the opportunity, though, to remind folks that this site will be down sporadically next week while I perform maintenance. There might be a few bugs to work out then as well, so I’ll be asking for your help at that point. I’m doing a lot of testing to make sure it’s a smooth transition, but we’ll just have to see.

Today’s image was taken last evening in Paradise Valley on a drive with painter Joe Wayne. We sat high upon a hill across the valley from where the light was really taking place. The clouds visible across the top of the frame covered most of the higher peaks both north and south from what you can see here of the Absaroka Mountain Range, but the highlight on this exposed lower face prompted me to take a shot.

A lovely Haiku, by the way!

  2. They call MT the Big Sky Country, which I’m sure you’ve heard before. Well, I think it’s true…the sky here seems to go on forever, and the clouds that adorn it as well. These were very unique clouds, hovering as they were and full of tone and texture. A beautiful night for sure! Thanks, Diane.

  3. p.s. - Glad you liked the haiku - I often feel like I can see as a poet, but not write as one. Maybe I’ll try my hand a bit more with future posts… :-)

  4. [...] in Paradise Valley, MT, which is located just to the right (south) of the highlighted peak from Thursday’s post. With its reaches shrouded in cloud cover, the landslide chutes and light on the west-facing slope [...]
