Sunset Grazing

So here it is, the first ‘official’ cow-scape post. Sure, I’ve done several others before, but I just had to accept that I was taking pictures of cows. Seems pretty simple, I know, but I’m a bit of an idealist and it goes against some subconscious rule I made for myself along the photographic way. The time has come, though, and I’m happy to give the cow credit for what it is…forever a part of the western landscape. And now, a part of my new style moo!-vement as well.

  1. Cool shot, gorgeous sky and the vertical comp with mimimal land works great. What an ominous cloud! Congrats on your new moo!-vement. I looked for the tag when you first announced that you were adding it, but I noticed it wasn’t there yet. I figured you were savoring the last few moments without it in the cloud. I feel bad that it goes against your subconscious rule tho, but I think everything will turn out ok. :-) (remember, as easy as it was to add it, you can always remove it too.)

  2. Sorry for the delay in my response here. That cloud is pretty interesting, as dark as it is. My father asked me if I made it black…I was happy to tell him ‘no’. Yep, I added up the ‘Cow-scapes’ tag and went back through the previous posts to add it to them as well. The rule I spoke of is something that shouldn’t even exist in the first place, it’s probably just a result of growing up around these parts and wanting to distinguish certain aspects of the environment and avoid others. But I’m looking forward to exploring this new niche and add it to my collection of styles and studies. Thanks all of your support, Diane.
