Absaroka Loom
This images was taken looking south into the Absaroka Mountains from the northern end of the Shields Valley. What strikes me the most about the photo is how the fierce blast of light on the foreground and dull, flat light on the background really compete with each other. If I hadn’t taken and processed the shot myself, I’d think it was a composite of two separate photos… I think I’m going to reprocess this image and update the post with the new version for comparison. It will be interesting to see if I can balance things a bit with the second go; I think it has great potential but something just doesn’t seem natural. We’ll just have to see…

This image is just gorgeous - a wonderful combination of that s-shaped line, the pattern of the grass and the dark tones of the mountains in the background. Really wonderful
Thank you, Markus, I appreciate your comment very much. This image has a wide range of tones, which I like very much. I hope you’ll give some feedback when I post a reworked version of the shot, one with a slight bit more balance. Thanks again!
