Shadow’s Advance
Today found me back on the Boulder River, hoping that the water level had come up enough so that the Natural Bridge falls were “in full bloom”, though I miscalculated pretty badly. I expected there to be a lot more runoff, but maybe in another week or two. I’ve got the USGS streamflow site bookmarked now, so I think I’ll have a better idea of what’s going on over there the next time I make the trip. The day was still immaculate, with amazing clouds in all directions. I took today’s image on the drive home across what happens to be buffalo ranch, though none were around to include in the shot. This scene appealed to me, as they so often do, for the stark edge between the approaching ink of shadow and golden light still lingering on the day. I love Montana!!

Gorgeous shot Cody! Love the balance of light and shadow.
Thanks, Diane. I wasn’t sure this one would make the cut, but I’ve received good feedback from you here on the blog and some other folks via e-mail. I appreciate you leaving your support, as always.
What does it for me is the loverly shape of the snowcapped mountains against that cloud! Just superb!
Hi Lolly,
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate you taking the time to share your support. PS - those food images you have on your site are making me hungry!
