Hillside Meeting

Aspens are such a dignified tree. In every season they offer beauty to the landscape, jewels of contrast in an otherwise ‘conifer kingdom’…at least where I live. The West Boulder Valley is a great place to find scenes like this one and I’ll be visiting there quite a bit over the next few months. I’ll try to get you acquainted with its splendor as best as I am able.

  1. Beautiful and in its beauty almost surreal.

  2. Love the fresh, crisp feel of this photo. (this photo is also enlarging beyond the size of your enlarged format box.)

  3. @Andreas - There is something a bit interesting about the way this image plays out. I’m not sure if it’s the subtle angle or lines of the trees, the clouds…not sure, but “almost surreal” is about as close as I can come too. Thanks Andreas.

@Diane - Thanks for the input on this one, D. I’m so lost as to why things are acting up…just when I think I’ve got part of it all figured out, another function gets to acting up. I do know that the Lightbox (the image enlargement plugin that I use) can get a bit buggy at times with the background box, but it usually goes away after I clear my cache or refresh the page a few times. Now, I don’t want you to have to do either, so I’m going to try something “different” for a bit to see if it helps. I say “different” because the plugin was recently upgraded to automate some functionality that was previously a manual process. So I stopped doing it my old way and let the plugin do the work for me…and that might be what’s causing the problem. In the meantime, if I could ask a favor of you - try refreshing the page a few times and enlarging the image again to see if the problem persists. Last but not least, thank you for the compliment on the image. :-)
