Archive Dive I

Last evening I was going through some images from 2003, back when I was using my first digital camera.  A 3.2 megapixel wonder, I disliked it quite a bit until I figured out how to manipulate the camera’s automatic settings to give me more manual control.  After that it was a rare thing to find me without the camera in my hand…ahhh, my first digital love.  I took a lot of images back then that I wish were made on a higher resolution (or film) camera, but you just have do it as you’re able, right?  So, from the archives of 2003 comes today’s image – it’s the wrong season, but with amazing light.  More for fun than anything, I’ll be continuing my ‘Archive Dive’ series for the next several months, but will try not to bore you with too much old stuff.

  1. Ahh what an amazing image. I really love this color combination. The only problem with fall is, that it’s followed by winter :)

  2. Thanks Andreas. The colors on this day were amazing, it’s stored in my memory bank as a favorite. As you can see from the clouds, intermittent breaks in the cover allowed some magical light through and the landscape was dotted with just this kind of beauty. Winter does follow Fall, but I can’t help but love them both. :-)

  3. Outstanding, in every way. Excellent choice for square format.

  4. Thank you Kerri, I appreciate your visit and comment. I love the square format, but it does have a time and place. I go through phases of using it; probably my favorite format when done well. Ever checked out Michael Kenna’s work? Amazing…
