Martinsdale Waterside I
I’ve been talking about the Martinsdale Reservoir for the past couple of posts, but haven’t shown any images yet. So today, let me take you there. These magenta flowers were only growing in a few areas around the water’s edge, but added splendidly to the scene. As my friend Vicki noted about her last visit…a million bees everywhere. But they were more interested in the spring cycle than me standing in their midst, so I was grateful.
Though it will come out a day late on my blog, at the time of my writing this post it is my parent’s 52nd wedding anniversary. My love and admiration to you both for being who you are…

Sweet post Cody and a very lovely photo to match. Congrats to your parents on their 52nd anniversary! Great to hear about all of the bees, I know many people out this way are a bit concerned at how the population has declined in recent years. I’m surprised you’re able to get close to edge of the reservoir, out this way they are almost always fenced off. Probably because we have such densely populated areas here in Ct.
I’m happy to see this scene. A beautiful job of layering all those colors and landscape shapes! Wasn’t the bee buzzing intense?
And how nice of you to acknowledge your parents 52 years together here, always impressive to see.
@Diane - I’ve heard a good bit about the bee population being down, but not for a while. I wonder how it is this year across the US. My parents used to make a granola breakfast cereal and I remember the price of honey going up and up and up. About the reservoir, this one is actually a recreational area. People can take their boats on it, but I’ve never seen one. Sometimes there are a few folks with camper tops on their trucks, but it’s in such a rural area, out of the way, between ‘nothing’ and ‘nowhere’…I’d bet only about a quarter of MT’s population even knows it’s there!
@Vicki - I’m glad you have been there to see it with your own eyes, what a neat place. Simple, but beautiful. The steady, but gentle breeze made for some nice textures on the water and what a prefect cloud day! Thanks for your comment.
