Evening Rays

Monday was a day to push it all aside and enjoy myself.  I drove to the Gravelly Mountains with a friend, exploring a new section of the maze of gravel roads that crisscross this beautiful landmark along the way.  Unlike most of the mountains around here, which are quite rugged,  the Gravellys are known for their vast, high altitude meadows filled with wildflowers and silence.  Today’s image was taken near the end of this nearly 85-mile dirt road trek and reflects the wonders I experience every time I visit this amazing place.  Can’t wait to go back, but this time with better bug spray!!
