The Passing
At peace she is, my remarkable grandmother. This weekend was a celebration of her life and an honoring of her memory. Above all, she lived only for her family and for God, never for herself. She enriched the lives of everyone she knew and, through her example to others, many that she did not. A towering example of love and selflessness, she will be greatly missed.

Guess you thought of Böcklin’s painting, right?
Spectacular treatment. I love it.
My sincere condolences go out to you and your family Cody at the passing of your grandmother….and such a wonderful photo you’ve chosen here, in memory of her.
Cody,
I am very sorry for your loss. Grandmothers are special people, and your wonderful tribute in both words and photo are testament to the positive impact she made on you and all around her.
@Andreas - I was actually not familiar with that painting, but have since read quite a bit about it. The visual similarities are there for sure, but the topic is quite a parallel. Thanks for sharing the connection.
@Diane and Kerri - Thank you both so much for your kind words. It’s a sad time, but one of relief also - worse than losing her is that she might remain only to suffer. Again, I am grateful for your support.
Thank you for such kind thoughts Cody. It really was a celebration of the life of Grandma. She was such a Godly lady. She will be missed by all of us who her loved her so much but she will be waiting for us all in Heaven. It is such a wonderful thing when you can celebrate the life of someone passing even though you are sad. It was great seeing you and all of the Redmon clan. I miss and love you all.
Hi Lynn, thank you for visiting and leaving a comment. I was glad to have the chance be with the whole family during my visit, short as it was. The distance of living in MT has been something I’ve always ‘loved to hate’, so just having everyone together was a great joy. Gert would have wanted it just as it was… Love to you all as well, give my best to Verle.
Thank you for so beautifully expressing the love our Grandma shared with everyone she touched! I was looking through your site because Mark and I would like to purchase one of your photos to display in our home - I think we just found “the one”.
It was so good to see you and the rest of your family. The offer of our basement is open ANYTIME you want to come to Georgia and take some pictures. Our mountains aren’t quite as large, but they are beautiful!!
Hi Joy, thank YOU for all the love and effort you and your family put into making granny’s last years such comfortable ones. That she was able to live outside of a care facility until the age she did…that she had family willing to help her do so, well, there’s a lot to be said about that.
It was wonderful seeing you as well, having all of our families together is always inspiring to me. Tell everyone hello and that I send my love. If you’d like to get in touch at any point via e-mail, contact@codyredmon.com should do the trick!
